Custom-made total knee arthroplasty is a state-of-the-art technology, which uses patient specific prosthetic knee materials that are designed according to the unique anatomy of each patient and produced in 3D printers in a period of 3-4 weeks. They are always accompanied by properly designed, personalized, disposable surgical instruments for the necessary osteotomies. KneePLAN® technology of Symbios (Switzerland) company uses the preoperative analysis of the bone morphology of each patient’s knee individualized and aims at the preoperative determination of pathological wear or bone deformity, congenital or acquired (usually traumatic) to determine the axis deformity of the lower limb. The system takes into account the normal geometry of the knee in order to fully restore the alignment of the limb and provides an excellent functional result which can last for many years.

Indications for a custom-made knee replacement are mainly:
